Updated: 4/9/2026

Hello to all of my fellow taxpayers!

I am Becky Simmer, the District Coordinator for the AARP Tax-Aide District 45.

Tax Season 2025 will again be a year of transitions for Villages Tax-Aide.

First of all, we are happy to report that Colony Cottage Regional Recreation Center is back. Colony will be open 6 days per week, starting February 2, 2026.

As Paradise Recreation Center is being rebuilt, we are opening a new site at Savannah Recreation Center. Savannah will be open on Wednesdays.

Coleman Methodist United Methodist Church will remain open. However, it will only be open on Tuesdays.

In addition, Recreation Plantation will be open only on Wednesdays. Ezell Recreation Center will remain open on Fridays. Aviary Recreation Center will remain open on Saturdays.

Our legacy sites, Mulberry Recreation Center, La Hacienda Recreation Center, Panasofkee Library and Fruitland Park Library will remain open. Mulberry on Mondays, La Hacienda on Tuesdays, Panasofkee Library on Wednesdays and Fruitland Park Library on Thursdays.

For a complete listing of our Tax Season 2025 sites, including hours and addresses, click HERE.

There will be many changes to the 2025 IRS tax code this year.  One of the most significant is the elimination of mailed refund checks.
Taxpayers who want to receive their tax refund will need to give the tax counselor a routing number and an account number
from a legitimate financial institution of their choice.

Taxpayers can do so much more than just make appointments on our website. Under the Taxpayer Resources tab, taxpayers can find additional worksheets and information to help them with their 2025 tax return. Under the Taxpayer FAQs tab, we have answers for some of the most common questions that taxpayers may have. For example, RMDs, QCDs and IP PINs. Check those two tabs out!
