Villages Tax-Aide needs you to become either a tax counselor or client facilitator. Every year we help thousands of people with their tax returns and other tax related issues. You would be part of an outstanding team that makes a real contribution in our community.

Hello fellow Taxpayers,

I am Gail Cavanaugh, the new coordinator for District 45.

I started volunteering with Tax-Aide about 14 years ago in New Jersey by answering a small piece in our neighborhood monthly newsletter. I thought it would be easy helping people with their taxes since I had always done my own. Little did I know what I was getting into!

I went to the orientation and came home with 3 publications – Pub 4491, Pub 4491X which had practice returns, the Test Book – and a laptop. The next day, I looked at those books and the laptop and thought “Wow! I have work to do”. It’s all been uphill from there.

My journey has gone from being a Counselor, Quality Reviewer, Instructor, ERO, LC and now your DC. I have found the journey to be very rewarding.

Volunteers with Tax-Aide can either be:

-Counselors who prepare the returns, or,

-Client Facilitators who help with appointments, help sort taxpayer documents and keep track of the activity at a site.
